The family's Piano range takes its name from the idea of harmony, bringing together traditional winemaking and a more contemporary approach to create wines that strike just the right balance. The grapes for 'Piano Fine Ruby' come from vineyards in the Cima Corgo, where steep slopes, schist-rich soils and an average altitude of around 450 metres help shape the character of the fruit. Following the traditional Port winemaking method, fermentation is stopped by the addition of grape spirit, preserving the grapes' natural sweetness before the wine undergoes careful maturation in wood. The final blend brings together wines aged for approximately two to three years, allowing their youthful fruit character to remain wonderfully expressive while developing a softer, more rounded texture.
