'One-Liner'
An elegant, traditional-style Barbaresco with dried cherry, rose, liquorice, firm Nebbiolo tannins and a savoury, earthy finish.
Tasting Note
Bright garnet in the glass, with a little brick at the rim. The nose shows dried cherry, wild cranberry, liquorice root, undergrowth and rose petal. On the palate, firm tannins carry red berry and tar-edged flavours, with touches of leather, dried herbs and earth. High acidity keeps the wine lifted, leading to a long, savoury finish of sour cherry and woodland spice.

The Story
This Barbaresco is made by Achille Boroli, whose family estate is rooted in Piedmont and is now run with a focus on low yields, quality and sustainable practice. The wine itself is very much in the traditional Barbaresco lane: Nebbiolo from Piedmont, vinified in stainless steel, then aged for 24 months in oak barrels and a further 24 months in bottle before release. The result is structured, perfumed and savoury, with the tannin and acidity to develop well over the next few years.
