Tasting Note
Pale straw in the glass with a lively stream of fine bubbles and a fresh, floral nose. Crisp green apple and citrus peel lead the palate, joined by hints of pear, white flowers and a subtle biscuity note. Bright acidity keeps the fruit wonderfully fresh, while the bubbles add plenty of lift and energy. Despite having no alcohol, there is enough texture and fruit concentration to give the wine a satisfying sense of body. Clean, zesty and refreshing on the finish, with apple, citrus and delicate floral notes lingering behind.

The Story
ALT. began with Norwegian brothers Christian and Alexander Jansen and a fairly straightforward ambition – to make an alcohol-free sparkling wine that still behaved like wine. Organic Chardonnay grapes grown in Spain are pressed and fermented conventionally in stainless steel before the finished wine is gently dealcoholised using low-temperature vacuum distillation. A patented aroma-recovery process captures and returns delicate compounds that might otherwise disappear with the alcohol, helping preserve Chardonnay’s apple, citrus and floral character. The finished sparkling is then made and bottled in Germany, giving ALT. an unusually international story: Norwegian founders, Spanish organic fruit and German production, all brought together in a genuinely wine-led 0.0% fizz.
