'One-Liner'
A dark, supple Bordeaux red with black fruit, spice and a gently liquorice-edged finish.

Tasting Note
Deep, almost black in the glass. The nose leans into forest fruits, plum and warm spice, with a clear note of liquorice. On the palate it is silky and medium to full in feel, with dark berry fruit, soft tannins and a fresh little bite that keeps it lively rather than heavy.

The Story
Carménère is one of Bordeaux’s old varieties, but these days it is far more often associated with Chile than with its original home. That is what makes this bottle so appealing. Bastion de Camérac brings it back to Bordeaux and shows that, in the right conditions, it can still make a very convincing wine here – dark-fruited, spicy and a little wild around the edges in the best possible way. The estate itself is a long-established family property in Entre-Deux-Mers, which gives the wine a proper sense of place as well as a bit of character.
