'One-Liner'
Zesty Mátra Sauvignon Blanc – citrus, green apple and a flicker of flinty minerality.

Tasting Note
Pale straw. Bright aromas of grapefruit, green apple and melon with a subtle smoky–flinty edge. Light-bodied and zippy on the palate, carrying juicy citrus and orchard-fruit flavours over a clean, mineral finish. Serve well chilled.

The Story
Benedek Pince is a family winery led by third-generation winemaker Péter Benedek in the Mátra hills, just west of Eger. The Epreskert (“Strawberry Garden”) vineyard sits on free-draining volcanic soils that help preserve acidity and lend a crisp, mineral cut to the fruit-forward style typical of Mátra whites.

Perfect With... (click me for the recipe)
- Meat:
Lemon-herb chicken skewers with grilled courgettes – the wine’s citrus snap and light body suit simple, zesty plates.
- Vegetarian: Goat’s-cheese, pea & lemon tart – zippy acidity loves tangy cheese; peas and lemon echo the wine’s citrus–green notes.
- Vegan: Grilled asparagus with lemon–almond gremolata and herby couscous – bright citrus and green herbs mirror the Sauvignon’s fresh, flinty snap.
