A bold but easy-going Toro red, packed with ripe cherry and bramble fruit, with gentle spice, fresh acidity and a smooth, velvety finish.

Tasting Note
Vivid cherry red in the glass, with ripe strawberry, raspberry and dark cherry joined by blackberry, plum and a subtle hint of liquorice. The palate is full and generously fruited without becoming heavy, with fresh acidity and well-judged tannins bringing balance and structure. Smooth, rounded and softly spiced through the finish, this is an approachable expression of Tinta de Toro with plenty of character.

The Story
Bodegas Covitoro works with almost 200 growers and draws exclusively from more than 800 hectares of vineyards within Toro, having played an early role in the development of the denomination before its formal recognition in 1987. Cermeño is made from hand-picked Tinta de Toro grown on vines around 30 to 45 years old, giving the wine plenty of depth while preserving the lively fruit and freshness expected from a young, unoaked red. It is a straightforward but satisfying introduction to Toro – generous, warming and structured, but softened by ripe fruit and a smooth, welcoming finish.
