Classic Mendoza Malbec – juicy red fruit, a soft, easy glide and a touch of oak polish.

Purplish-red in the glass. Aromas of fresh raspberry and plum with a subtle vanilla note. The palate is medium-bodied and succulent – red-berry fruit, rounded tannins and lively acidity – finishing clean and moreish. Serve around 15–16 °C.

The Story
Vasco Viejo is one of Bodegas López’s long-running 'Clásicos', created as a homage to the old labels from the winery’s large oak toneles – 'El Vasquito' – and made for everyday enjoyment. The Malbec is sourced from long-established vineyards in Maipú and Luján de Cuyo, and typically spends a short period in large French oak vats to round the edges while keeping the fruit front and centre.

Meat: Paprika-rubbed pork with roast peppers and herb potatoes – the ripe red fruit and gentle vanilla play nicely with sweet spice and roasted flavours.
