'One-Liner'
Bright, citrusy Californian Albariño – saline, peachy and properly refreshing.
Tasting Note
Pale straw in the glass. The nose is fresh and lifted, with citrus and stone-fruit notes. The palate is crisp and vibrant – peachy fruit, lively acidity and a gentle mineral-saline edge – finishing clean and mouth-watering. A lovely white for seafood and sunshine drinking.

The Story
Markus and Liz Bokisch have been championing Spanish varieties in Lodi since the 1990s, inspired by time spent living in Spain and by Markus’s work in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. They bought the Terra Alta property in Clements Hills in 1995, imported Spanish budwood in 1998, and began making wine from their estate-grown, organically farmed fruit in 2000. Albariño has become one of the estate’s signature grapes, with the Terra Alta site’s hillside exposure and volcanic clay loam soils helping give the wine its freshness and mineral edge.
Perfect With... (click me for the recipe)
- Fish/meat: Sea bass with lemon, parsley and olive oil – the citrusy acidity and saline edge are spot on with simply cooked fish.
- Vegetarian: Courgette, pea and lemon risotto – bright green flavours and a squeeze of lemon echo the wine’s freshness.
- Vegan: Chickpea, herb and roasted pepper salad with lemon dressing – clean, zesty flavours work beautifully with the wine’s crisp finish.
