Tasting Note
Deep ruby with youthful purple glints, opening with ripe cherry, blackberry and plum alongside violet, subtle pepper and a touch of cedar. Merlot gives the palate plenty of juicy, generous fruit and a smooth, velvety texture, while Cabernet Franc brings freshness, perfume and a gently savoury, spicy lift. Fine tannins and bright acidity keep everything poised, leading into a persistent finish of dark berries, flowers and restrained oak.

The Story
Tempo d’Angélus was created in 2019 under the direction of Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal as a more immediately approachable introduction to the world of Château Angélus. The fruit comes from clay and limestone slopes around Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion, from parcels acquired specifically for this Bordeaux bottling. In 2024, Merlot dominates the blend, bringing ripe fruit and velvety texture, while a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc adds floral perfume, freshness and spice. Made with the same attention to detail as the estate’s more prestigious wines, Tempo is deliberately styled to offer Bordeaux depth and polish without demanding years in the cellar.
