'One-Liner'
Classic Loire Sauvignon with a little extra substance – grapefruit, citrus peel and green herbs with bright acidity and a gently textured finish.
Tasting Note
Pale yellow with silver-green highlights, opening with fresh aromas of pink grapefruit, orange peel and crisp white fruit alongside a subtle herbal lift. The palate is bright and energetic, with citrus and pear carried by mouth-watering acidity and a pleasingly pithy texture. Time on the fine lees brings a little extra weight through the middle without taking away from Sauvignon Blanc’s natural freshness. There is a clean, savoury edge beneath the fruit that makes the wine particularly food-friendly. Dry, lively and nicely persistent on the finish, with citrus peel and fresh herbs lingering behind.

The Story
Château de Pocé sits on the north bank of the Loire at Pocé-sur-Cisse, just upstream from Amboise, with its south-facing vineyards looking towards the river. Also known as La Châtellenie, the château dates back to the 15th century and today forms part of the Pierre Chainier family’s Loire estates. For this Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes are gently pressed before the juice settles in cool tanks and ferments in stainless steel, with malolactic fermentation deliberately avoided to preserve the grape’s crisp, aromatic character. The wine then spends three to six months on its fine lees, adding a little extra weight and texture to the bright grapefruit, citrus and herbal freshness that makes Touraine Sauvignon so immediately appealing.
