A gloriously fragrant fortified Muscat, filled with honeysuckle, ripe peach and citrus – lusciously sweet, yet lifted by bright, refreshing acidity.

Tasting Note
Bright golden in colour, with heady Muscat fragrance, honeysuckle and ripe yellow peach joined by layers of sweet citrus and fresh grape. The palate is full, silky and generously sweet, with concentrated stone fruit and floral flavours balanced by a lively seam of acidity. Rich without becoming cloying, it finishes long and fruit-filled, with lingering peach, citrus and delicate blossom.

The Story
Darling Cellars sits close to South Africa’s Atlantic coast, where dry-farmed bush vines grow in weathered granite soils under the cooling influence of the nearby ocean. Wildflower takes its name from the spectacular seasonal flowers for which this stretch of the Western Cape is known, while the wine itself celebrates Hanepoot – South Africa’s traditional name for the richly aromatic Muscat d’Alexandrie grape. After a short period of cool skin contact, the juice is fortified with wine spirit, preserving its natural sweetness and exuberant floral fruit while retaining enough freshness to keep the finished wine beautifully balanced.
