Domaine Chauveau, 'Calcaire', Coteaux du Giennois AC, 2024

Pale lemon in the glass, it opens with aromas of grapefruit zest, elderflower, and freshly cut grass, overlaid with a subtle chalky minerality and hints of white blossom. On the palate, it’s zippy and precise, a lively core of lemon and lime dances with green apple and gooseberry, while a thread of wet stone minerality adds definition. Lighter and slightly more floral than its Sancerre cousin, yet still driven by that Loire freshness and finesse.
