Tasting Note
Pale lemon in the glass, with fresh aromas of citrus, green apple and delicate white flowers. The palate is bright and precise, combining lemon and crisp orchard fruit with a subtle rounded texture. A distinct mineral and saline character runs underneath, reflecting the limestone-rich soils of Chitry. Stainless-steel fermentation keeps everything clean and fruit-focused, with no oak getting in the way of the wine’s natural freshness. Dry, refreshing and elegantly persistent on the finish, with citrus and stony minerality lingering behind.

The Story
Chitry sits only a short distance south-west of Chablis and shares much of the same geological DNA, with Chardonnay rooted in Jurassic Kimmeridgian clay and limestone. The village was granted the right to append its name to the Bourgogne appellation in 1993, creating Bourgogne Chitry, and Domaine Giraudon has become one of its most established family growers. Marcel Giraudon now works alongside his children Aurélie and Thibaut across around 30 hectares, including eight hectares devoted to white Bourgogne Chitry. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, an intentionally straightforward approach designed to preserve the freshness, fruit and mineral character of this quietly distinctive corner of northern Burgundy.
