'One-Liner'
Bright, beautifully uncomplicated Burgundy – juicy cherry and raspberry with fine tannins, gentle spice and a fresh mineral finish.

Tasting Note
Bright ruby in the glass, with an inviting nose of red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant alongside subtle floral and spicy notes. The palate is fresh and supple, with juicy red berry fruit carried by fine tannins and lively acidity. A hint of pepper and gentle savoury character adds complexity without taking away from the wine’s light-footed charm. Stainless-steel ageing keeps the fruit wonderfully clear and energetic, with no oak obscuring Pinot Noir’s natural delicacy. Fresh, elegant and very approachable on the finish, with red berries and a subtle mineral edge lingering behind.

The Story
Chitry-le-Fort sits just a few miles south-west of Chablis, and its vineyards share the same distinctive Kimmeridgian clay-limestone geology that has made its famous neighbour so celebrated. Domaine Giraudon has been farming here for generations, with Aurélie and Thibaut Giraudon now working alongside the family across around 30 hectares. Their Bourgogne Chitry Rouge is deliberately kept simple in the best possible way: Pinot Noir is harvested by hand, fully destemmed and given a short cold maceration before fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel. Ageing remains in tank for six to twelve months, preserving the cherry, raspberry and freshness of the fruit rather than covering it with oak. It is a particularly appealing glimpse of northern Burgundy – light, pure and full of character.
