'One-Liner'
A finely built Gevrey-Chambertin with dark cherry fruit, subtle spice and a long, mineral finish.

Tasting Note
Bright ruby in the glass. The nose shows cherries, raspberries and redcurrants, with floral notes, a little graphite and a gentle oak spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied and precise, with ripe red and dark berry fruit, refined tannins and a chalky, stony edge that carries the wine through to a long, dry finish.

The Story
La Platière is a lieu-dit in Gevrey-Chambertin, set on the alluvial cone below the Lavaux valley, where silt and limestone have built up over time. That sort of ground tends to give wines with both depth and suppleness, which feels exactly right here. The Gros family has been rooted in Vosne-Romanée since 1830, and the current Domaine Michel Gros was created in 1995. In a wine like this, that long Burgundian grounding comes through not in showiness, but in proportion: fruit, tannin and site all kept in balance.
