A beautifully poised Mosel Spätlese with ripe peach, lime and a long, slatey finish.

Tasting Note
Pale gold in the glass. The nose is rich but lifted, with peach, lime and a gentle smoky mineral note. On the palate it is medium-sweet in style, with honeydew melon, ripe peach, pineapple and citrus all held in check by racy acidity and a strong slatey line. It feels generous, but never heavy.

The Story
Erdener Treppchen is one of those Mosel vineyards that tells its own story. The name means “the little staircase”, a nod to the old stone steps built into the steep hillside so growers could reach the vines. Its red slate soils give the wines more weight and power than some other Mosel sites, while still keeping that signature crackle of freshness. In Spätlese form, it is a brilliant expression of what the region does so well – sweetness, fruit and tension all moving together rather than fighting for attention.
