Tasting Note
A deep, almost opaque garnet in the glass, this is a proper glass of red – unapologetically rich and structured. The nose leads with blackberry compote, cassis, and a touch of mocha, layered over dried herbs, graphite and warm spice. On the palate, it’s bold and mouth-filling: black fruit, roasted coffee bean, cedar, and crushed black pepper. Tannins are grippy but refined, with just enough acidity to keep everything in check. The finish is savoury, smoky, and impressively long – a wine that doesn’t so much whisper as command attention.

The Story
Finca Sophenia is one of those high-altitude producers quietly punching above their weight in Gualtallary, a sub-region now known as one of Argentina’s most exciting terroirs. At over 1,200 metres above sea level, the vineyards benefit from intense sunlight and cool nights – perfect for slow, balanced ripening. The Blend brings together the boldness of Malbec, the structure of Cabernet, and the softness of Merlot in a beautifully judged trilogy of power, finesse, and freshness.
