'One-Liner'
A beautifully mellow 10 Year Tawny with caramel, nuts and dried fruit wrapped up in a smooth, elegant finish.
Tasting Note
Lovely tawny-gold in the glass. The nose opens with ripe red fruit, raisins, toasted nuts and a touch of damson jam. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, with caramel, dried fruit and fresh acidity giving it lift and length. Rich and mature in feel, but still bright enough to stay very easy to drink.

The Story
Wiese & Krohn is one of the historic Port houses, founded in 1865, and has built a particularly strong reputation for aged Tawnies. This 10 Year Old is made from selected red Ports from Douro Valley vineyards and aged in small oak casks, typically around 630 litres. That wood ageing gradually shifts the wine away from youthful ruby fruit towards a softer, more complex style, bringing in nuttier, caramelised notes while keeping the freshness that stops good Tawny from feeling heavy.
