A lusciously sweet white Port with honey, caramel and nutty depth, lifted by just enough freshness to keep it bright.

Tasting Note
Golden in the glass. The nose shows floral and fruity notes, with honey, caramel and a gentle nutty warmth. On the palate it is unctuous and properly sweet, but there is still a lively streak of acidity running through it, so it never feels flat. Long, rich and mellow, with a lingering honeyed finish.

The Story
Lágrima is the sweetest style of white Port, and Krohn’s version leans fully into that character. Producer and importer notes describe fermentation being stopped with grape spirit to preserve a high degree of natural sweetness, followed by ageing in wood in Krohn’s Vila Nova de Gaia cellars. One current trade source also describes it as being aged for around seven years, which helps explain the wine’s extra depth, nutty development and honeyed richness.
