A mellow, fruit-led Tawny Port with soft spice, dried fruit notes and a smooth, gently nutty finish.

Tasting Note
Amber-ruby in the glass, lighter in colour than a Ruby Port. The nose is soft and inviting, with red fruit, dried fruit and a gentle nutty warmth. On the palate it keeps a lovely balance between fruit and mellow oak influence, with a smoother, more evolved feel than a Ruby, but still plenty of freshness and elegance. Rounded, easy and very drinkable after dinner.

The Story
Krohn is one of the historic Port houses, now presented in trade as Wiese & Krohn. This Tawny is a young Tawny rather than a long-aged, stated-age style, so the focus stays on approachability: softer and more mellow than Ruby, but still with plenty of fruit at its core. That makes it a very handy bottle to have around if you want something a little more nuanced than Ruby without moving into the deeper, woodier 10 Year Old and above category.
