Tasting Note
Soft salmon pink with a stream of fine bubbles, opening with wild strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant alongside delicate floral notes and a subtle touch of citrus. The palate is light and elegant, with a smooth, creamy mousse giving shape to the fresh red fruit while lively acidity keeps everything bright and poised. Dry and refreshing through the finish, with lingering berries and a gently savoury edge.

The Story
Louis de Grenelle was founded in Saumur in 1859 and remains one of the Loire’s independent, family-run sparkling wine houses. Its wines mature deep beneath the town in old cellars carved into the region’s soft tuffeau limestone, where naturally cool and stable conditions are ideal for traditional-method sparkling wine. Perle is made entirely from Cabernet Franc, a grape more often encountered in the Loire’s reds and rosés, but here transformed into a finely coloured Crémant with fragrant berry fruit and a softly creamy mousse. Hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed before fermentation and extended ageing on the lees, bringing texture and finesse without losing the wine’s vivid freshness.
