'One-Liner'
Liquid apricot pantry – golden, glossy and gloriously moreish.

Tasting Note
Glowing pale gold with a fine, slow swirl. Aromas roll out in layers – dried apricot, yellow peach and honeyed citrus – with a gentle vanilla-toasty note from time in barrel. The palate is silky and concentrated yet lifted, folding ripe stone fruit, candied orange and a lacing of spice into bright, balancing acidity. Long, glossy and clean on the finish – sweetness and freshness in elegant step.

The Story
Szamorodni means 'as it comes' – whole bunches of botrytised and healthy berries are harvested together, then the wine is aged in oak (minimum six months for the sweet style), developing that hallmark honey-dried-fruit complexity while keeping Tokaj’s refreshing line of acidity. It’s a historic, less-seen sibling to Aszú, offering serious character at friendlier sweetness and price levels.

Perfect With... (click me for the recipe)
Meat: Roast duck with sour-cherry sauce – the wine’s acidity cuts the richness, the sweetness loves the fruit.
Vegetarian: Sweet cheese & apricot strudel (túrós rétes) – quark or cottage cheese works perfectly.
Vegan: Apple & poppy-seed strudel (almás-mákos rétes) made with vegan puff pastry – spice, fruit and pastry echo the wine’s apricot-honey charm.
