Tasting Note
Pale gold in the glass. The nose is lively and expressive, with green peach, citrus, apple and a lightly herbal, minty edge. On the palate it is light in body but full of energy, with ripe fruit, bright acidity and a fine mineral line that keeps the sweetness beautifully in check. There is a touch of creaminess on the finish, but the overall feel is all about freshness and balance.

The Story
Wehlener Sonnenuhr is one of the great names of the Mosel. It is a steep, slate-rich vineyard above the river at Wehlen, and it has long been prized for wines that manage to be both delicate and intense at once. In Kabinett form, that character is especially charming. You get the lightness and brightness that make Mosel Riesling so irresistible, but also a depth and longevity that can surprise people who still think of Kabinett as merely simple or slight. This is exactly the sort of wine that reminds you why the Mosel remains one of the world’s most distinctive white wine regions.
