Bright ruby in the glass. The style here is very much traditional Chianti – lively, dry and fresh rather than heavy, with red-fruit character and a gentle savoury edge. The palate is smooth and balanced, with enough brightness to keep it really food-friendly. Straightforward, honest and made for the table.

The Story
Gonfalone comes from Trambusti, a long-established Tuscan producer that describes itself as four generations of winegrowers. The wine is made in the broad Chianti heartland between Florence and Siena, from vineyards on clay and galestro soils, and is given a short period of bottle ageing before release. The flask presentation leans into that old-school Chianti feel nicely – familiar, unfussy and made for relaxed drinking with food.
